Aiyana Ishmael is the Editor-in-chief of Florida A&M University's (FAMU) campus magazine, Journey. In this role, she leads a dynamic team that creates award-winning content focusing on the culture of FAMU.

In addition to Journey, Ishmael is active in student media with a portfolio that includes SiriusXM (HBCU Channel 142) as a host of the university’s FAMU Now! Weekly show; campus TV and radio news host; co-host of a podcast; sportswriter; feature writer; YouTube production manager for a magazine show and more.

​

 

As a journalist, she wants to ignite social-economic/ political/ fashion/ activism and other related conversations that create change through storytelling. She is a creative and dependable college student leader who regularly engages in community and campus service projects.

Ishmael is completing her Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism at FAMU. She holds an Associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College.
